I’m very pleased to finally be able to bring you news of Vincent Ventresca’s lastest film. If you recall, back in March I blogged about a film that Vince was starring in called Sorry. At the time I didn’t know much about the film, nor did I know that because of film festival rules, no promotion on external websites was allowed. Oops. So, in deference to the film festival rules, I’ve been sitting on updates about this project for several months. Now, finally, I can tell all of you about this cool little film.
Sorry was created specifically for the DVXuser.com Spy Fest Short Film Festival. This online contest required that the submitted entries have a spy theme, be no longer than six minutes, and the central character be named Rob or Robin. Filmmakers had only three months to get their entries made.
Sorry stars Vince as Robin Tasker. It was written, produced, and directed by Joe Dietl. DP (Director of Photography) Mike Halper of Ascentia Films asked me to tell you that the film was rushed in order to meet the submission deadline and is not quite finished. Improvements to the visual effects, sound effects, and music are in the works. Mike said he will let me know when the new version is available so that you can watch it.
Everyone involved in this short did a great job, and it looks like others thought so too since it just won third place at the DVX User Spy Fest Film Festival. Congratulations to cast and crew!
I want to give a big thanks to Joe Dietl and Mike Halper for allowing me to share the following poster, behind the scenes pictures, and screen captures with you. I had to do some resizing and cropping to get these pictures to fit on the page, but if you want to see a larger and uncropped view, go to the photo gallery page.

A few years back there existed a really great website dedicated to Vincent Ventresca called vincentventresca.net. The site was attractive, well organized, and a fan could find virtually everything about Vince’s roles and career there. Danielle, a very talented fan, created and ran the site.
Well, life got busy for Danielle and the website is no more, but a whole slew of her videos she either saved or created are residing on YouTube for our enjoyment. Danielle was kind enough to let me post links to her videos so that you can easily find and enjoy them too. She’s got a great assortment of videos.
To start things off, here’s the actual trailer used to advertise the pilot of The Invisible Man.

Here’s a great interview with Vince where he answers questions from the old Invisible Man bboard. The audio seems to be a bit out of sync and it abruptly stops after seven minutes, but it’s still worth watching.

Danielle created a whole slew of I-Man music videos that are a lot of fun to watch.

I was going to wait until I had a bit more information about this project, then I thought, why wait? We all are interested in knowing about Vincent Ventresca’s projects, so I’ll give you what little I do know about this film.
The title of the film is Sorry, though that may just be the working title. It appears to be a small independent film, possibly even a short film created specifically for a film festival. If that’s true, I’m not sure what our chances are of getting to see it. A lot depends on what the filmmaker’s goals are for the film. Filming is supposed to start in a few weeks.
I’ll keep my ears open and if I find out more, I’ll let you know.

Vincent Ventresca will appear CSI: Miami tonight at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on A&E. As usual, check your local listings for the time and channel in your area. The episode is called Invasion and Vince plays a character named Zellar.
This is a rerun, so if you have already seen it, you might prefer to catch Paul tonight in Close to Home, which is a new episode and happens to air at the same time. If you haven’t seen it, then you’ve got a decision to make. Vince? Paul? Vince? Paul? It’s like choosing your favorite child…impossible. But then times like these are why VCRs were created.

The Sci Fi Channel’s creature feature, Larva, will be airing tomorrow morning at 11:00 a.m. Eastern/Pacific time. (Be sure to check your local listings as it airs as early as 8:00 a.m. in some areas.)
Larva stars Vincent Ventresca as a vegetarian veterinarian (I dare you to say that fast three times) who discovers that the town’s meat supply isn’t exactly safe for consumption. Bet he’s glad he’s a vegetarian; and you might want to become one too after watching this film. The movie is a mix of science fiction and horror and if you’ve missed it in the past, now is your chance to see it and squirm.
Larva is also available on DVD and can be purchased at Amazon.com, as well as rented from Netflix.
For you filmmakers, here’s an article on Kodak’s site about how cinematographer Stephen Lighthill achieved the look of the film:

Okay, I think I’ll go have a nice juicy steak now.
