Paul Ties the Knot!

Some of you may have already heard this news, but for those of you who haven’t, you may be happy to know that on July 5, Paul Ben-Victor married Julie Austin Felder!

I would have gotten this notice up earlier, however, I’ve been having ongoing computer problems.  But I want to thank Julie Ben-Victor, BB Fenix of Pure PR Associates, and Marc Bennett for being so gracious and allowing me to share the following pictures and video with all of you.

The wedding took place at a Los Angeles yacht club under a large white tent.  Most of the guests wore white.  It was a beautiful setting.  There were so many wonderful pictures to choose from that I had a hard time deciding which ones to pick, but I can only post a few so, first up, here are the happy couple.  Don’t they make a lovely pair?

Here are Paul and Julie lip-syncing to their own pre-recorded voices.  What fun!

Not surprisingly, there were several celebrities in attendance, but since this blog focuses on the I-Man cast, there is one in particular that I know all of you are interested in:  Vincent Ventresca.  Check out the photos!

Congratulations, Paul and Julie!

Vincent Ventresca in “True Jackson VP”

Vincent Ventresca guest starred Saturday in Nickelodeon’s True Jackson VP.  The episode is entitled “True’s New Assistant.”   True Jackson VP star, Keke Palmer, said about the episode, “very funny show, wait til you meet the assistant, he turns out to be a handful, the actor that plays the assistant is so good.” — KeKe Source Online

I have to agree with KeKe.  This may be a kids show, but Vince really shows off his comedic talents here.  I’m always amazed at the range he has as an actor…from a goofy assistant to a scary killer to an invisible man.

I only found out about Vince’s appearance about half an hour before the show started on Saturday…too late, unfortunately, to be able to give all of you a heads up.  So I’ve been looking around, trying to find out if there are going to be any reruns or online airings.

Nick’s TV show schedule doesn’t really give much detail.  The show airs its first-run episodes on Saturdays at 8:30 p.m.  The schedule shows other airings of the show at the following times this coming week, but doesn’t give any info as to whether they are reruns of Saturday’s episode or not.

7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 2
7:30 p.m. Monday, July 6

I did manage to find a short clip from the episode for you to watch.

True’s New Assistant Clip

It appears that at some point the entire episode should be available to watch online, although I’m not sure when that will happen.  But if I was to venture a guess, I’d say give it a week then click on the above link and see if the entire episode is up.

Catching Up On Paul Ben-Victor News, Part 2

Paul Ben-Victor news continues…

Sunday’s post would have been too long and unwielding, which is why I decided to split it up into two posts.

Let’s start with another interview.  This one is from Hollywood 411.

Paul’s Pad

Paul’s Santa Monica home has been featured in a couple of publications and websites.  There’s good reason for this too.  Paul has excellent taste.  According to Statement magazine Paul “probably could have distinguished himself as an architect or a designer” — and I have to agree.  So take a look at Paul’s place and maybe you’ll get some decorating ideas for your own home.

First up is a brief video tour of his home on the Modern Home & Living website.  Just scroll down a bit to watch the video on the lower right side of the website.  Paul’s home is the very first one shown in the video.

Modern Home & Living

Next up is an eight-page spread in Statement magazine.  A digital version of the magazine (No. 5, 2008) can be found here.  But you’ll have to scroll to page 96 to get to the article.  It’s a bit of a pain.  You can also download a PDF version of the entire magazine from the website if you wish.  It’s a pretty cool magazine.  To make things a bit easier, however, I pulled out just the article from the PDf download for you.

But before I go any further there is a very newsworthy piece of information on the first page of this article that you might be interested in, namely, that Paul is engaged to actress Julie Austin Felder.  Yes ladies, Paul is officially off the market.  I want to give a big huge congratulations to Paul and Julie and wish them much happiness!

Coming soon:  I’ll talk about Julie’s new play.

“The Reel Deal” Workshop

This coming weekend I’m looking forward to spending both days in San Francisco at an IIFF workshop entitled “The Reel Deal – Getting Your Indie Film Financed, Produced & Distributed Without Getting Ripped Off.”  The workshop will be given by Jeffrey Brandstetter, an entertainment attorney, financier, producer, and distributor.

I first met Jeffrey about a year ago.  We attended the same seminar given by a venture capitalist.  I blogged about it in a post I wrote last March entitled Film Financing From a VC’s Perspective.  For the afternoon group assignment, Jeffrey was on the same team as I was.  It was great to have someone with his experience on our team.  We ended up beating all the other teams with our project.

Jeffrey makes the best argument I’ve ever heard for why films are not necessarily the poor investment that they are commonly painted to be.  Yes, he admits that most films don’t recoup the investor’s initial investment.  However, when you compare films to the typical Silicon Valley startup, there are some noteworthy differences.  Many startups have nothing to show after 18 to 24 months and, if they fail, the most that an investor can often get is whatever the fixtures sell for at auction.  In other words, pretty much nothing.  However, when it comes to films, if you are able to raise the full production budget, which will enable you to complete the film and get it in the can, you now have a real asset…something that is worth far more than used furniture.  If the film is a big hit, there can be big rewards; but at the very least, an investor will receive back a significant portion of his or her investment.  There won’t be fire sale.  That can’t be said for most Silicon Valley startups.  Following that line of reasoning, this makes film an investment that is very worthy of consideration.

If the business of filmmaking interests you, you might want to take the time to watch the following 41 minute preview video.  In it, Jeffrey gives us small taste of his upcoming workshop.

Vincent Ventresca to Guest Star in “Path”

Mike McCafferty’s interactive web series is turning into a bit of a mini I-Man reunion.  Mike has announced in the latest episode, entitled “To Change the World,” which went up today, that Vince will be appearing in the next two episodes!  So if you haven’t been watching, go get yourself caught up.  These two episodes are going to be the last of this season and are not to be missed!

Mike is asking for our help to support the series.  Here’s what he has to say:

Hey everyone,

Path #6 is now live.  It’s a great episode that sets the
table for the final two episodes of this season.  We also
have an awesome new title sequence courtesy of Jason
Makiaris.

There’s some interest from producers with this series so I
really could use your help to spread the word and vote.
I’d love to get over 100 votes for this episode.

So check out the episode on Facebook (group videos or
upcoming invite) or stop by www.PathTheSeries.com and cast
your vote before Wednesday.

Thanks for helping!

Mike

As you all know, viewer support can often make or break a TV series, a movie, or even a web series, so please show your support by voting and spreading the word to friends, family, and other online sites you visit.  I know that there are well over 1,000 readers of this blog alone, so even if only a quarter of you voted, we could easily surpass Mike’s wish for at least 100 votes.  Won’t you please give him a hand?  As a bonus, you’ll get to help decide the direction of Vince’s character!

Here’s where you can go vote.  You have until Wednesday.

Here’s a fun little video called “Mike Wets Himself” – A film by Kiernan McCafferty.

“Path” Makes a Move

Wasn’t it great seeing Eddie Jones on last week’s episode of Path?  I’m once again reminded what a talented and dynamic actor he is…and a plain nice person to boot.  This week Eddie once again makes an appearance in this week’s episode entitled “Hot Coffee.”  Jason Makiaris also makes a brief appearance in this episode.

For all you I-Man fans, have you been noticing all the little I-Man references sprinkled throughout the series?  How many have you caught?

Now don’t go looking for the new episode in the usual places.  Mike has moved the series to a few new locations.  So go check them out and show your support by voting (you have until midnight Friday) and, of course, telling your friends.

By the way, here’s a little video about the Friendship League.  If you are interested in finding out more about this organization, check out their website at http://friendshipleague.org.

And in this video the Friendship League gets kicked out of Ralph’s.  Aw…they were just trying to be friendly.  Anybody want to go to their Thursday barbecue?
